Description

30-Ton Hydraulic Forging Press –

Power. Precision. Durability.

Designed by craftsmen – for bladesmiths and blacksmiths.

The  hydraulic forging press has been designed for intensive daily use in professional workshops. It is ideal for forging Damascus steel, blades, upsetting, drawing out, and shaping hot steel.

Its rigid frame, precise guidance system, and 30 tons of controlled pressing force make it a reliable machine for professional bladesmiths, blacksmiths, and metalworking shops that demand consistent performance.

Key Features

  • 30-ton pressing force
  • 5.5 kW / 400 V electric motor
  • 35-liter hydraulic oil reservoir
  • Foot pedal control – keeps both hands free for safe material handling
  • Automatic return of the pedal to the neutral position
  • Moving upper platen
  • Fixed lower platen for maximum workpiece stability
  • Interchangeable forging dies
  • Emergency STOP button
  • Thermal overload protection for the electric motor
  • CE Declaration of Conformity

Built for Heavy-Duty Operation

The press has been engineered for years of reliable operation under demanding forging conditions.

The main structural components are manufactured from 20MnV6 high-strength steel, offering exceptional rigidity and resistance to deformation, even under the full 30-ton load.

The guidance system consists of:

  • Four Ø50 mm hard-chromed guide columns made from 20MnV6 steel
  • Eight sliding bushings, ensuring smooth movement, excellent rigidity, and virtually eliminating play.

This design provides accurate platen alignment, even load distribution, and long service life.

Interchangeable Forging Dies

The press features a quick-change die system that allows the operator to adapt the machine to various forging operations.

The standard dies are manufactured from WCL (1.2343) hot-work tool steel, known for:

  • Excellent resistance to high temperatures
  • Outstanding wear resistance
  • High mechanical strength
  • Long service life when working with hot steel

These properties make the press ideal for forging Damascus steel, knife blades, and a wide range of forged components.

Working Area

The machine has been designed to provide comfortable operation when forging both small workpieces and large Damascus billets.

Working Area Specifications

  • Maximum opening of the upper platen: 340 mm
  • Hydraulic cylinder stroke: 230 mm
  • Working clearance between the standard dies: 200 mm

The generous opening allows quick loading of material and easy die replacement without additional adjustments.

Mobility and Stability

Although built with a heavy-duty frame, the press is easy to move around the workshop whenever required.

Machine Dimensions

  • Base width: 1000 mm
  • Base depth: 700 mm
  • Machine weight: approximately 270 kg

The base is equipped with four transport wheels with a combined load capacity of 2,000 kg, allowing the machine to be repositioned easily by a single operator.

Once the desired position has been reached, the integrated leveling feet are lowered to lift the machine off the wheels.

This ensures maximum stability during operation while preventing any movement of the press under load.

Comfort and Safety

The press is operated using a mechanical foot pedal, allowing precise control of the hydraulic cylinder while keeping both hands free to safely handle the workpiece.

When the pedal is released, it automatically returns to its neutral position.

The machine is also equipped with:

  • An Emergency STOP button
  • Thermal overload protection for the electric motor
  • Complete technical documentation, including a CE Declaration of Conformity

Electrical Installation Requirements

The press is powered by a 5.5 kW three-phase industrial electric motor and requires a properly designed electrical installation.

To ensure maximum performance, the electrical system should provide:

  • Three-phase 400 V power supply
  • Correctly sized power cables
  • Proper electrical protection
  • Stable supply voltage
  • A dedicated electrical circuit exclusively for the press

Undersized cables, incorrect protection devices, or excessive voltage drops may reduce machine performance, prevent the press from reaching its full 30-ton capacity, or cause motor overheating.

Electrical installation and connection should only be carried out by qualified personnel in accordance with local electrical regulations.
